The term thēsaurós (θησαυρός) is an Ancient Greek word meaning 'treasure' or 'treasury'. In English, it has been adopted as 'thesaurus', referring to a systematically organized collection of concepts within a language, designed to provide an overview of words with similar meanings.
The term 'thesaurus' gained popularity in 1852 through Peter Mark Roget, who published 'Roget's Thesaurus', an extensive collection of related words and concepts.
A personal treasure trove where you collect your most important insights, resources, references, original work, values, and key words. It is enriched by all courses, encounters, and personal experiences.
The thēsaurós is used as a means of communication and interaction among students, teachers, supervisors, experts, clients, jury members, colleagues and others. It showcases the positioning of the student (and teacher) in the real world of IA and their commitment to society.
